The Laneway Project

An element of many great cities from Chicago to Venice to Hong Kong are the laneways and alleys that meander off the front streets. In a time where Toronto has many challenges in how to maintain a high quality of living for its growing population, its network of laneways hold a multitude of opportunities as connective tissue between neighbourhoods. Windpath created  a video installation that takes viewers gliding through laneways in four different Toronto neighbourhoods. This virtual experience exposes people to these spaces and encourages them to explore the laneways in their city.
